Take the Pledge
Did you know that nearly 25% of crashes in Colorado in 2013 were a result of distracted driving?
As mobile devices become increasingly available, the temptation of distracted driving also rises. Of the nearly 204,000 accidents in Colorado in 2013, nearly a quarter were caused by distracted driving. Sending or receiving text messages while driving takes an average of 4.6 seconds, which is long enough for a car driving at 55mph to cover the length of a football field—and definitely long enough to cause a potentially fatal accident.
Especially concerning is the high number of distracted driving accidents attributed to teens in Colorado. Young drivers are especially at risk as they gather experience behind the wheel that shouldn't involve time spent on their cell phones.
Auto Insurance is the first step in managing the risks that you face everyday while driving. We can all agree, however, that avoiding a compromising situation that requires this safety net is ideal. Download the contract below and take the time to seriously discuss the dangers associated with sending or reading texts while behind the wheel.
Join HL Insurance in encouraging Colorado drivers, especially teens new to the road, to keep their mobile devices out of driving and make everyone's safety the primary focus behind the wheel.
